Men who have the snip increase their risk of suffering fatal prostate cancer, research revealed yesterday.
Experts said that having a vasectomy was associated with a small increased risk of prostate cancer and a stronger risk for advanced or lethal form of the disease.
It is the largest study to look at the link. Prostate cancer is the second-leading cause of male cancer death.
The researchers from Harvard School of Public Health in Boston studied data from nearly 50,000 men in the US who were followed up for up to 24 years from 1986 to 2010.
